Albany State eliminates Spring Hill; to play Savannah State at 11 a.m. Sunday

ALBANY – The Albany State Golden Rams eliminated Spring Hill College from he SIAC Championship baseball tournament, 7-3, Saturday night in a game that didn’t end until after 11 p.m. The game was delayed until about 7:30 p.m. because of weather, and then a rain delay paused the game in the middle of the third inning.
Landon Kiefer took the win on the mound for Albany State after pitching seven strong innings. He allowed six hits and two earned runs, walked five, and struck out 10.
Shortstop Emory Stephens led the batting for Albany State with a bases-loaded double in the fourth inning that scored three runs.
The Golden Rams will now face Savannah State at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Savannah State beat the Rams 19-3 on Friday to send Albany State to the loser’s bracket. Edward Waters then beat Savannah State and now waits on the winner of the Savannah State – Albany State game to decide the SIAC championship.
