ALBANY — Florence Williams Austin, 85, of 1129 E. Roosevelt Ave., died Saturday, July 5, 2008. Funeral arrangements to be announced.

Benny P. Giafaglione

LEESBURG — Mr. Benny P. Giafaglione, 77, of 221 Willow Lake Dr., in Leesburg, GA, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Lee County Health Care.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Ray Levreault officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Cemetery with military honors.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Giafaglione has lived in Albany 32 years where he was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, 52 year 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and worked 10 years civil service at Albany Marine Corp. Logistics Base. Mr. Giafaglione proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and Vietnam retiring with 23 years of service. He also was a member of the Air Force Sgt.’s Association, American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include his dear wife of 51 years, Maris Giafaglione of Leesburg; his loving children, Marisa Harvey and her husband, Bill of Brunswick, GA, Richard Giafaglione and his wife, Sofia of Jacksonville, NC, Amy Cox and her husband, Billy of Columbus, GA and Linda Netherton and her husband, Jeff of Tallahassee, FL; the joy of his life his grandchildren, Jacob Cox, Katelyn Giafaglione, Samantha Giafaglione, Richard Giafaglione, Daniel Giafaglione, Grace Netherton and Lillith Netherton; brother, Vincent Giafaglione and his wife, Dot of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Rita Cozzo of Marlton, NJ; sister-in-law, Dolly Giafaglione of Cherry Hill, NJ; brothers-in-law, Randal and Malcolm Martin and his wife, Doreen of the UK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Salvatore Giafaglione and sister, Frances Grosso.

There will be a rosary service Tuesday 6:00 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus Charities, 2009 Gillionville Rd., Albany, GA 31707.

Murell Green Hancock

SYLVESTER — Murell Green Hancock, 92, of Anderson City, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kimball United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Kimball Cemetery. The Rev. Al Lewis and Mr. Don Goodroe officiating.

Born in Worth County, on January 12, 1916, Mrs. Hancock was the daughter of the late David Linwood Green and Mary Jane Southerland Green. She was the widow of Phillip I. Hancock, who died July 1, 1985. She has lived in Worth County all of her life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a member of Kimball United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane Miller and Clarence of Sylvester, and Judy Brooks and Larry of Anderson City; a son, Wendell Hancock of Anderson City; a sister, Melba Rosser of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Alan Varnadoe, Chris Brooks, Laura B. Patterson, Jason Hancock and Melissa Hancock Dlugozima; six great-grandchildren, Jake and Sam Varnadoe, Cody and Matthew Brooks, Abby and Gray Patterson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Kimball United Methodist Church.

Martha Jones Klein

ALBANY — Mrs. Martha Jones Klein, 85, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Palmyra Medical Centers.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Roy Johnson officiating.

Born in Camilla on August 17, 1922 to Oscar Durant and Mattie Palmer Jones. Mrs. Klein and her husband owned and operated Klein Printing and she loved to work in her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Gene Klein and a grandson, Charles Randall Klein.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Spivey of Albany, Linda Wright and her husband, John of Albany; son Richard Klein of Albany; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today (Monday) 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern and will be at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. John Wright, 108 Crabapple Ct.
