ALBANY — The memorial service of Joseph Franklin Grimsley II, 59, of
Deatsville, AL, formerly of Eufaula, AL, who died July 1, 2008, will be
conducted July 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry
Carl-Gordon will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately after
the service.
A native of Arlington, GA, Mr. Grimsley was born to the late Jessie B.
Grimsley and Inez Sasser Grimsley. He grew up in Blakely, GA and previously
resided in Eufaula, AL, before moving to Deatsville, AL. He was employed with
BE & K Construction.
Mr. Grimsley was a 1967 graduate of Lyman Ward Military Academy and
Jefferson Davis Community College. He was a millwright and a certified
gunsmith. Mr. Grimsley was a Master Mason and a member of Epworth United
Methodist Church, of Eufaula, AL.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Joey and Leslie Grimsley and daughter
and her husband, Sherry and Patrick Barton all of Leesburg, GA, two brothers
and their wives, Donald and Shirley Jockish of Deatsville, AL and Jesse and
Mary Grimsley of Leesburg, GA, eight grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
