Billy Bruton Williams

COLQUITT — Billy Bruton Williams, 78, of Colquitt, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at Miller Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 14 at Sheffield Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in Colquitt City Cemetery.

Born on November 23, 1929 in Miller County, Mr. Williams was a sale clerk with Seminole Building Supply and a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Mark Williams and George (Melaine) Williams, both of Colquitt, Mike (Donna) Williams of Arlington and David Williams of Colquitt; a brother, Buddy Williams of Albany; a sister, Juanita Hines of Albany; eight grandchildren, Caine Williams, Kelly Newberry, Meredith Crowell, Summer Elmore, Wes Williams, Russ Williams, Ashley Kimbrell and Angel Brown; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Weaver of Colquitt.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Griffin Williams; his parents, Grady and Ruth West Williams and three brothers, Don Williams, Larry Williams and Ken Williams.

Pallbearers are Wes Williams, Caine Williams, Russ Williams, Steve Williams, Phil Long and Steve Long; and honorary pallbearers Gary Phillips, Ken Phillips, Johnny Vann, Wendell Hines, Troy Williams and Chad Newberry.

Visitation will be held today (Sunday) from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Miller Nursing Home.
