Irene Sawyer Bridges

ALBANY — Irene Sawyer Bridges, 95, of Brinson, GA, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at her residence.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Brinson Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery.

Evelyn Geneva Arnold

ALBANY — Evelyn Geneva Arnold, 86, of Sylvester passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008 in Sylvester.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the graveside of Crown Hill Cemetery. Reverend Walter Ross will officiate and Mrs. Arnold’s nine grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Born March 10, 1922, in Sylvester, Mrs. Arnold was the daughter of the late Levi and Florine Davis Shiver. She was of the Baptist Faith and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law Dale Townsend and Howell Crosby and two special uncles and aunts, Kansas and Jodi Davis and Clyde and Mary Shiver.

Survivors include her three daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley Crosby of Sylvester, Janice Morgan and her husband Joel and Delaine Townsend all of Albany; 9 grandsons, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM (today) Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Hall & Hall Funeral Home.

ALBANY — Jocelyn Reddick, 34 of 3302 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., died on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Palmyra Medical Center. Funeral service will be announced. The family will receive friends at the home of her mother Joyce Reddick at 3302 MLK Jr. Dr.

James Kenneth Thomas Jr.

ALBANY — Mr. James Kenneth (Ken) Thomas Jr. 54, of Albany died Monday July 14, 2008 in Albany.

His funeral service will be held Thursday July 17, 2008 at Kimbrell-Stern. Blue Jean clothing welcome. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.

A native of Albany, he lived in Albany all of his life. He was a Tool Warehouse Foreman for Daniel’s Construction Co. He was lead singer of the Boot Hill Express Band and was also the drummer for Black Oak Arkansas Band.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte Arrington Thomas of Albany; one brother Karl Thomas and his wife Patti of Hayesville, NC; two sisters Kimberly Thomas of FL; Laketta Ambercrombie of Fitzgerald, GA; Nieces and Nephews Jimmy Mac Gray, Kensi Karlise Thomas, Ryan Thomas and Skylar Thomas.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

James Lloyd Warmack

ALBANY — James ( Jamie) Lloyd Warmack, 24, of Lafayette, LA formerly of Thomasville, GA died on Saturday, July 12, 2008 in a swimming accident in Kinder, LA. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. James R. Bullion will officiate.

A native of Thomasville, GA, Jamie served in the US Navy after graduating from Thomasville High School in 2001. He has lived in Lafayette for the last six years where he was a machinist and Disc Jockey. Jamie touched many people through his love of music and his kind spirit. He lived life everyday and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by his friends and his family, but he impacted so many people through his love that his spirit will live on. Music was his life and soul and is what he lived for every day.

Survivors include his mother, Lisa and stepfather Dale Schexnayder of Leesburg, GA. His father, Alan and stepmother Debra Warmack of Raleigh, NC, sister, Megan Warmack and friend Keri Scott of Albany, GA, brother Matthew Beal of Leesburg, GA, and girlfriend Amber Boustany of Lafayette, LA; maternal grandparents Jim and Mary Nicholson of Leesburg, GA, paternal grandparents Lloyd and Helena Warmack of Thomasville, GA; uncle & aunt Larry and Joyce Nicholson of Marianna, FL, aunt and uncle Cathy and Steve Stocks of Leesburg, GA, uncle Jim Nicholson of Rock Hill, SC, uncle & aunt Tracy and Karen Warmack of Thomasville, GA, uncle and aunt Shawn and Judy Warmack of Thomasville, GA; 31 cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Wanda Warmack of Thomasville, GA.

The family will receive friends and guests on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Bettye Jean Wright-Mathis

ALBANY — Bettye Jean Wright-Mathis, 64, of 841 B. Odom Ave., Apt. B, died on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Christian Center with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Charlie Williams will officiate.

Mrs. Wright-Mathis was born on March 7, 1944 in Dougherty County. She was educated in the Dougherty County School Systems. She was a member of Ebenezer Christian Center.

Survivors include her husband, Ernes mathis, Jr., Children Rogie (Valencia) Wright, Virginia Beach, VA; Dacia S. Wright, Dana S. Wright and Betty (Melvin) Toomer, Albany; adopted daughters, Keisha Reeshemah, Sherita, and many other siblings, Alice Wright, Eva (Andrew, Sr.) Griffin, Teronice Harris, Marion Harris, Louise Gunn, Rosa McCray, Albany, Valerie (Eddie) Sherman, Hephzibah, GA, Marie Harris-Jones Lakehurst, VA; and Henry Harris, Newark, NJ; grandchildren, Rogie Wright, Jr., DeAnne L.
