Edward William Bell, Jr.
ALBANY Edward William
Bell, Jr., 17 of Albany, died on
Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at
Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital.
Funeral services will be held
on Tuesday, July 30, 2008, at 12
noon at Zion Grove Baptist
Church. Interment will follow at
New St. James Church
Cemetery.

Freda Perkins Connor
ALBANY The graveside
funeral service of Freda Perkins
Connor, 91, of Albany, died July
26, 2008 at Lee County Health
Care will be conducted
Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Floral
Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev.
Betty Lou Miller will officiate.
A native of Birkenhead
England, Mrs. Connor moved to
Newark, NJ in 1930 and had
resided in Albany since 1947.
She became an American Citizen
in the 50s and was proud to be
a Southerner. She worked with
and retired from Coats and Clark
after twenty years and was a
member of Porterfield Memorial
United Methodist Church. Mrs.
Connor was the widow of
Lawrence Albert Connor, volunteered
as a Pink Lady at Palmyra
Medical Centers for many years and
loved to bowl.
Survivors include a daughter,
Aileen Connor of Albany, a son
and his wife, Robert Louis and
Judy Connor of Buckhannon,
WV, a sister, Jean Craig of
Albany, four grandchildren,
Matthew Ryan Connor and his wife,
Pam of Iveydale, WV, Brian
Timothy Connor and his wife,
Jaimee of Cleveland, TN, Nathan
Patrick Connor of Linthicum, MD
and Melissa Holley and her
husband, Tom of Byron, GA and five
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends
at their residence and after the
funeral service at Floral Memory
Gardens.

Issac Johnson, Sr.
ALBANY Mr. Issac
Johnson, Sr., 82, of Leary, died on
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at
Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital. Funeral services will be
held on Wednesday, July 30,
2008 at St. Maryland Baptist
Church in Leary. Rev. Kenneth
Williams will officiate. Interment
will be in the Union Baptist
Church Cemetery in Morgan.
Mr. Johnson was born on
August 14, 1925, in Calhoun
County. He attended Calhoun
County Public Schools and was
a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was a member of St.
Maryland Baptist Church. He was
a retired Fork Lift Operator with
Lillison Farm Equipment
Company
Survivors include, three sons,
Mr. Johnny B. Johnson
(Dorothy), and Mr. Leon Johnson
(Lula) both of Leary, Mr. Isaac
Johnson, Jr., (Cynthia) of
Bainbridge; three daughters, Mrs.
Barbara Lyles Belton (John)
Atlantic City, NJ, Mrs., Calinte
Chamberlain (Arnold) of Albany,
and Mrs. Rowe Norris Johnson
of Leary, 16 grandchildren; 17
great grandchildren; and two
great great-grandchildren.
The remains of Mr. Johnson
will be at the church on
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 10 until
the funeral hour.
