Elnor Dunn Brown

ALBANY — Mrs. Elnor Dunn Brown, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

She has been sent to Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn for services which will be Friday, August 1, 2008 at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

Born in Atlanta on March 18, 1926 Mrs. Brown was a Legal Secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Joel Stokes Brown.

Survivors include her son Joel Stephen Brown, Albany, GA, aunt Lucille Thornton, Peachtree City and a host of cousins.

Harold D. Culbreth

ALBANY — The funeral service of Harold D. Culbreth, Sr, 72, of Leesburg, who died July 29, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Grady Morey will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Shellman, GA. Daniel Culbreth, Stephen Culbreth, David Culbreth, Steve Paul, David Paul and Joel Beard will serve as active pallbearers.

A native of Randolph Co., GA, Mr. Culbreth grew up in Shellman, GA and had resided in Albany before moving to Leesburg fifteen years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a route supervisor with the Albany Coca Cola Company for thirty years.

Mr. Culbreth also retired from the Atlanta Journal and Constitution as a distributor and owned and operated Culbreth Lawn Mowing Services. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Albany and was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Curry Culbreth.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Gore Culbreth of Leesburg, three sons, Harold D. Culbreth, Jr. and his wife Gail of Jasper, GA, Gregory T. Darley of Cumming, GA and James A. Culbreth of Lee Co. GA, his mother, Mrs. Alva Culbreth of Sasser, GA, two brothers, William T. Culbreth and David Culbreth and his wife, Kitty, all of Albany, GA, a sister, Lillie Whaley of Shellman, GA, three grandsons, Daniel Culbreth, Stephen Culbreth and David Culbreth all of Jasper GA and one granddaughter, Carson Norwood of Leesburg, GA.

The family received friends Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Christine Russell Willis

ALBANY — Mrs. Christine Russell Willis, 75, of Albany, died on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby McKinney will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Memorial Park Cemetery, Holloway and McKinley Street, Albany.

Mrs. Willis was born on December 26, 1932, in Albany. She attended Dougherty County Public Schools. She was a member of Mt. Calvery Baptist Church. She was a retried Machine Operator at National Lined Service.

Survivors include one brother, Rev. Bennie Russell of ALBANY; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Palm of Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Catherine Herrington of ALBANY, and Mrs. Millie Rivers (Wright) of Tampa, two grandchildren, Mr. Christopher Lamar Wade (Phyllis) and Mr. Orion Leontes Murray (Deborah); and five great gradchildren.
