ALBANY — Adell Battle, 55 of 2108 Jerry Jones St of Valdosta, died on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Hospice of South GA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Ocilla Cemetery in Ocilla.

Ira Belle Hatcher Haire

ALBANY — Ira Belle Hatcher Haire 92, of Albany died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Palmyra Nursing Home.

Her funeral service will be 2 PM, Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with the interment to follow at Cook’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Miller County. Rev. Mike McAfee will officiate. The family will receive friends today August 2, 2008 6PM to 8PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

A native of Mitchell County, Mrs. Haire had live in Albany since 1950 and was a member of First United Methodist of Albany. She was a member of the Hawk Sunday School Class, The Young At Heart, of First United Methodist Church and the XYZ at Porterfield United Methodist Church. She was a dietitian with the Dougherty County School System and retired in 1980 with 20 plus years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph D. Haire,Sr.; her daughter Emily Haire Shaver and her son Elzia Randolph Haire.

She is survived by her daughter; Mary Haire Butler and her husband Joe, of Albany; and her son Randolph (Randy) D. Haire Jr. and his wife Leesa, of Gulf Breeze FL; 7 grandchildren: Debbie Kromminga and her husband Dan, and Joe G. Butler III and his wife Dianne of Albany, Lynn Jones and her husband Scott of Snellville, Ga., David Shaver and his wife Vicki of Wenonah, NJ, Ray Shaver and his wife Gail of Leesburg, GA, Lauren Spring and her husband Bo of Mexico Beach, FL, and Stewart Haire of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; her son-in-law Bob Shaver of Albany; and 9 great grandchildren.

Falice Smith Harper

ALBANY — The celebration of life service for Falice Smith Harper, 82, of 1906 Edgerly Ave., Albany, GA who died July 31, 2008 at Lee County Health Care will be conducted Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

A native of Berrien Co., GA, Mrs. Harper had resided in Albany, GA since 1948, moving from Atlanta, GA. She was a retired Dental Hygienist and a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Everett Harper, Sr., parents, Charlie Paul Smith and Mamie Ira Able Smith.

Survivors include four children, Falicia Wisham of Albany, GA, Benita Stinson, Anderson, IN, Janine Menchaca of Brooksville, FL and Julian Harper, Jr. of Summerfield, NC, five grandchildren, Heather Espinosa of Tampa, FL, Christy Coleman of Jamestown, NC, Candace Arnold of Elfand, NC, Kelli Grandy of North Manchester, IN and Cole Harper of Summerfield, NC and seven great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to the residence after the celebration of life service for our mother, sister and friend.
