Benjamin Franklin Bell Jr.

DONALSONVILLE — We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Benjamin Franklin ”Frank” Bell, Jr., 84, of Donalsonville, who passed away at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 at the New Elm Baptist Church Cemetery in Moultrie. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at 10 am at Spring Creek Baptist Church.

EDISON — Jim Garrett, 47, died on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Bluffton with in the church cemetery.

Julia Tassie Grimsley

COLQUITT — Julia Tassie Grimsley, 92, of Colquitt did on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Miller Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Kent Barwick and Rev. Calvin Arnold will officiate Interment will follow at Primitive Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 7 to 9 p.m at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Brad Grimsley, Scott Grimsley, Gerry Grimsley, Randall Amundsen, Johnny Hagan and Oliver Widner.

Mrs. Grimsley was born on May 13, 1916, in Miller County. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Primitive Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter,Carolyn (Carl) Amundsen of Albany, two sons, Ray (Georgia)Grimsley of Colquitt, and Jerry Grimsley and fiance’ Karen Hasty of Colquitt; eight grandchildren, Randall (Karen) Amundsen, Candace (Todd) Blevins, Brad (Casey) Grimsley, Joy Grimsley and fiance’ William Watson, Kim (Oliver) Widner, Scott (Janet) Grimsley, Gerry (Melissa) Grimsley, and Lari (Johnny) Hagan; 17 great grandchildren; and ten great great-grandchildren.

Lilla Doris Haire

COLQUITT — Lilla Doris Haire, 89,of Colquitt, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Miller County Hospital. Funeral services will be held on on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Boykin Church of God interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Marty Tedder and Rev. Thomas Lanier will officiate.

Mrs. Haire was born on March 23, 1919 in Jackson County, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of Boykin Church of God. Mrs. Haire was a charter member of the Boykin Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Haskell, Taylor Haskell, Greg Haire, Jeff Haire, Jerry McKinnon and Brad Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Hayes, Rick Little, Don Haire, Brenda Stolis, Wilma Fleet, Carolyn Worsley, Merline Grow, Willen Musgrove and Jean Campbell.

Mrs. Hair was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Haire and one grandson Kendall Tedder.

Survivors include one son Kenneth (Jeanette) Haire of Colquitt, three daughters, Joyce (David) Tedder of Live Oak FL, Kathryn (Frank) Threatt of Douglas, and Joan (Rufus) Tipton of Duluth; three brothers, Herman Donalson of Colquitt, Herbert Donalson of Thomasville and Willie Donalson of Cario; three sisters, Virginia Andrews of Colquitt, Thelma Carlton of Lakeland, FL AND Laverne Wiggins of Tallahassee, FL.

FITZGERALD — Luann Jean Larson, 43, of Newnan went home to be with her Savior on Friday, July 18, 2008 Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Paulk Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

Alice Dorothy Walker Lee

SYLVESTER — Alice Dorothy (Dot) Walker Lee, 72, of Sylvester, died on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church with interment to follow at The Isabeila Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee was born on October 17, 1935, in Turner County. She was the daughter of Walter Jolley Walker and Alice Martha Hobby Walker. She was married to James L (Jim) Lee who preceded her in death on July 3, 2002. She lived in Worth County since 1970 moving here from Albany. She was a retired from Proctor and Gamble after 23 years. She was a member of Worth County {pound}454 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron. A member of the Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church and the Maude O’Sheal Sunday School Class. Her favorite verse was ”Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. She never met a stranger and spent her life in services for others. She was a volunteer at the Nursing Home and led an Aerobics Class at the Recreation Department. She was a member of the Worth County Arts Council and she also played Weezer in ”Steel Magnolias”.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Cooper on June 23, 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Hyde (Grant) of Melbourne, FL, Janet R. Odom (Jerry) and Kerri DeMichael (Sal) both of Sylvester; three sons, David Lee, of Sylvester, William (Billy) Lee of Suwanee and John Lee (Valerie) of Reidsville NC; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a Special Friend Russell Hill.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 6 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.

Diane Croley Milton

CAMILLA — Diane Croley Milton, 57, of Camilla died Friday, August 1, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Southside Baptist Church in Camilla with interment at Crestview Cemetery in Cairo. Rev. Keith Smith, Rev. Neal Hager, and Rev. Johnny Burdock will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ric Croley, Wally Croley, Wade Croley, Patrick Allen, D.J. Croley and Tony Black. Honorary pallbearers will include Jason Haka, J. J. Clements, and Rusty Fender.

Born July 21, 1951 in Thomas County, Mrs. Milton was the daughter of the late P. C. and Mildred Gandy Croley. She was employed by Sunbelt Forest Products of Cairo and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Milton of Waycross; two daughters, Kimberly Smith and husband, Keith of Albany and Kathryn McKenzie and husband, Todd of Pelham; a sister, Donna Avera and husband, Joel of Savannah; three brothers, Gary Croley and wife, Sarah of Whigham, Eric Croley and wife, Elaine of Metcalf and Dan Croley and wife Cheryl of Cairo; five granddaughters, Julianna Smith, Megan Smith, Shelby Smith, Taylor McKenzie and Kelsey McKenzie.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday, August 2 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Ave., Albany, Ga. 31701.
