Gordon Folmar

PELHAM — Gordon Folmar, 81, of Pelham, died on August 3, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday ,August 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Robert Connor will officiate. Interment will be held at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Pelham. The family will be receiving visitors at the residence at 619 Hand Ave. W. Pelham, on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Folmar was born November 11, 1926 in Atmore, Alabama to the late Leon Zimery and Mattie Mae Bray Folmar, he was married to Shirley Jones Allen Folmar. Mr. Folmar was a geologist, carpenter and former owner of QuikLube in Albany, Georgia. He was also a veteran of the Army and Merchant Marines and a member of the Pelham Civitan Club. He was Primitive Baptist by faith.

Pallbearers will be the nephews of Mr. Folmar and honorary pallbearers will be his classmates and past and present members of the Pelham Civitan Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Zimery and Mattie Mae Bray Folmar, brothers James Folmar, Aldon Folmar, Claude Folmar, Angus Folmar, Macy Folmar, and sisters Marie Folmar Smith and Mabeth Folmar Grant.

Mr. Folmar is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones Allen Folmar of Pelham, Georgia, daughter Pamela Folmar Marshall and husband, Steven, of Santa Paula, California, sons Greg Allen and wife, Vicki, of Ft. Valley, Georgia and Gary Allen and wife, Mary Lynn, of Pelham, Georgia, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Jean Folmar Stanley and husband, Howard, of Ormond Beach, Florida, and brother Leon ”Ted” Folmar and wife, Edna, of Tallahassee, Florida.

Larry O’Neal Glenn

CAMILLA — Larry O’neal Glenn, 69, of Thomasville, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ricky Pearson will officiate.

Active pallbearers are Jamie NeSmith, Aubrey Taylor, Stacey Muliford, SGT First Class Thomas M. Dalton, Dory Hoffman, Kenneth Lasseter. Honorary pallbearers will include R. B. Bentley, Earl Daniels, Hoss Baggett, Tim Clark, Mike Clark, Jeff Clark, Rusty Davis, and Billy Lasseter.

Born July 26, 1939 in Mitchell County, Mr. Glenn was the son of the late Leon Pershing and Lizzie Layton Glenn. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Our Father’s House Church of Cairo.

Survivors include two daughters, Rena Clark & husband, Leslie, of Ochlocknee and Lauren Glenn of Benton, Tenn.; two sons, Leon Glenn of Bainbridge and Frankie Irvin of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Joanie Muliford & husband, Stacey, Shana Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Lynn Irvin, Haley Irvin, Holly Irvin; and one great grandchild, Vana Muliford.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Fred Johnson, 6725 Lodgetown Rd., Pelham, Ga. 31779.

Henry Hamilton Parker

DALLAS, TX — Henry Hamilton Parker of Lloyd Circle, Dallas, Texas died from cancer on July 27, 2008. He was born February 27, 1959 in Union Springs, Alabama. He is survived by his parents Anne Hamilton Parker of Albany, GA and Hunter Branscomb Parker (Betty) of Bainbridge, GA; son Matthew Anthony Parker of Dallas, Texas; brothers Stephen Parker of Albany, GA, Kenneth Parker (Larisa) of Alpharetta, GA; nephew James Parker; niece Susannah Parker, and other loving family members.

He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Albany in his youth and later St. Teresa’s Catholic Church of Albany, GA.

Henry was associated with LXI Corporation, Irving, Texas as computer systems analyst and Sally Beauty Company of Denton, Texas.

Because of his passion for music, Henry participated in numerous musical groups in a variety of styles. He was in Westover High School Band, Auburn University Band and most recently the MAXX! Showband of Dallas, Texas.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday August 9, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Albany, on Oakland Parkway.
