ALBANY Cathryn Lively Doris, 81, of Dawson, formerly of Albany, died August 9, 2008 at Dawson Manor Nursing Home. A private family memorial service was held.
A native of Carrollton, GA, Mrs. Doris had resided in Albany since moving from Montezuma, GA in 1960. She was a homemaker and had previously worked with the Credit Bureau of Georgia and assisted her late husband, Albert Landy Doris, in operating Als Chevron. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathryn Anita Ray.
Survivors include two daughters, Landra Gayle Meagher and her husband, Mark of Albany and Marie Harris of Blue Ridge, GA, three grandchildren, Landra Rebecca Meagher, Katie Allison Meagher and Chandler Grady Harris and three sisters, Elizabeth Bailey of Douglasville, GA, Reba Sartin of Rome, GA and Patricia Harrison of Covington, GA.

ALBANY Gayle Newton Manley, Albany, GA died August 9, 2008.
His funeral service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at Kimbrell- Stern with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Donald M. Kay will officiate.
A native of Ft. Meade, FL, Mr. Manley grew up in Moultrie, GA and graduated from Moultrie High School in 1953. He was a 1958 graduate of Georgia Tech. He moved to Albany in 1964 to establish the M&M/ Mars Candy plant and worked as its Vice President/General Manager until 1975. Mr. Manley worked for the State of Georgia during Governor George Busbees administration from 1976-1981. Since 1981, he owned and operated his own real estate development company. Very active in local and state community service, Mr. Manley had served as a Director with the Phoebe Putney Hospital Foundation, Director with Security Bank and Past Director with American Savings and Loan, Founding Director and Chairman for over 20 years with the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG), Past Director with the Albany Chamber of Commerce, Past Director of Albany Water, Gas, and Light Commission, Past Director of the National Peanut Council, the Peanut Butter and Nut Salters Association, Past Trustee of Deerfield Windsor School, Past Director of the Southwest Georgia Developers Association, and Past Director and President of the Radium Springs Preservation Group, Inc. He was preceded in death by his son Alan Manley and a daughter Angela Manley Hoogstra.
Mr. Manley is survived by his wife DeLoyce S. Manley, Albany; a son: Chip Manley, San Diego, CA; 2 grandchildren: Michelle Hoogstra and Brandon Hoogstra; his mother: Jackie Newton Bailey, Moultrie, a brother: Leon Manley as wife June, Jesup.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m.

Joanne Martin Tauber
LEESBURG Mrs. Joanne Martin Tauber of Leesburg, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Kimbrell- Stern, with interment to follow in Leesburg Cemetery. Chaplain Ben Rice and Karen Rice will be officiating.
Mrs. Tauber was born December 19, 1935, in Albany and grew up on the Martin Farm in Lee County. She fell in love with and married that Yankee, Gerald Tauber, a Marine from New Jersey, who after meeting Joanne at a square dance in Albany, never considered living anywhere other than Leesburg, which they did after he retired. Joanne had a full life with her family and lived in all parts of the country from Oklahoma City, OK, to Boston, MA, and everywhere in between. They had great adventures and made lasting memories everywhere they called home.
A homemaker until Captain Taubers last duty station at MCLSBA Albany, Joanne went to work at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in 1972. She retired as head of Registration from Phoebe in 1995 shortly after the death of her beloved husband. She was a member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church all of her life.
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Scott King of Leesburg and Lisa and John Warrener of Albany. She has five grandchildren Amanda Nieman of Leesburg, Gerald Saliba and his wife Tabitha of Albany and from Arizona, April Cline and her husband Aron; Jessica Hardwick and Mary Hardwick. She has three great-grandchildren, Adam Nieman, Aiden Cline, and Kailyn Saliba. Her sister and brother-in- law, Jacqueline and Bill Bowling, reside in Leesburg.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

ALBANY Sylvia Dean Zirkelbach, 71, of 2711 Robinson Point, Albany, GA, died August 10, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with Pam Stofleth officiating.
A native of Evansville, IN, Mrs. Zirkelbach had lived in Albany, GA since 1966. She was a retired supervisor after twenty years with M & M Mars and was a member of St. Teresas Catholic Church. Mrs. Zirkelbach was a member of The VFW Post # 2785 Ladies Auxillary and The Loyal Order of The Moose Womens Auxillary. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Zirkelbach.
Survivors include her husband, Don Zirkelbach of fifty three years, a son and his wife, John and Becky Zirkelbach of Cartersville, GA, a daughter and her husband, Ellen and Mike Giles of Woodstock, GA, her mother, Gertrude Hagan of Albany, GA, a brother and his wife, Joe and Barbara Hagan of Union, MO, a sister, Patricia Embry of Albany, GA, six grandchildren, John Zirkelbach, Jr and his wife, Richelle, Traci Marie Perkins and her husband, Eric and Donald James Zirkelbach all of Cartesville, GA, Sabrina Pericich and her husband, Cody of Summerville, SC, Jessica Michelle Giles of Woodstock, GA and Jesse Michael Giles, Jr. of Kennesaw, GA and four great-grandchildren, Maggie Perkins,James Zirkelbach, Nicholas Zirkelbach and Easton Perkins.
