ALBANY Ms. Brenda Faye Baker-Green was born in Albany on October 1, 1959 to the late Mr. Leroy Bacon and Mrs. Emma Dean Lamar Moses. She departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2008 after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Roselawn Garden of Memory Cemetery. Rev. Arthur Lee Wright will officiate.
She graduated High School in Hinesville. She was a homemaker. Her parents, one brother, Jerry Moses, Jr., one sister Theresa L. Jones and a devoted friend Ricky Mathis preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Mrs. Tennasha (Brain) Gresham of Albany; one son Andrew Phillips, Jr., of Savannah; two sister Delores (Thomas) Walker and Betty Self of Albany; one brother Larry (Theresa) Bacon of Savannah; one uncle William Bacon; one aunt Annie Bell Collins of Savannah; one grandson Courtney Alfonzo Gresham of Albany and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the home of Ms. Betty Self, 1703 Avalon, Albany.

ALBANY Charlene Cantrell Welch, 68, of 908 Cordele Road passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2008, in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele at 3:30 p.m.
Born September 24, 1939 in Pitts, GA, Mrs. Welch was the daughter of the late Fred and Sally Lockaby Cantrell. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, John T Welch, Sr. of Albany; children Johnny T Welch, Jr., and his wife, Lynn of Sylvester, Steve Welch of Miami, FL, David Welch, and his wife, Tammy of Leesburg, and Kathy Ann Welch and her Fiance Mark Lalik of Albany; two brothers Elmer and Alton Cantrell both of Cordele, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends (Today) Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.

ASHBURN Judy Ann Banks Williams, 49, of 135 Stevens Street, Ashburn died on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith, in Ashburn. Bishop E. L. West will officiate. Interment will follow at Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn.
Mrs. Williams was born on October 31, 1958, in Turner County. She was educated in the Turner County Public School System. She was a housekeeper and a member of Mt. Zion Church of God Apostolic in Ashburn. Where she served as a member of the Usher Board and Vice President of the Missionary Department.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Williams; five children that she raised, Edward Lewis of Haines City, FL, Ritezia Williams of Waycross, Levi Johnson, Qeshia Frager, Moesha Westbrooks all of Ashburn; three sisters, Vivian Rogers, Teresa Burgess, Graice Scott; two brothers, Joe Terry and Gregory Tanner; and 12 grandchildren.

Earl Thomas Williford
ACWORTH Earl Thomas Williford, 73, of Acworth died Sunday, August 17, 2008. Funeral services was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home in Acworth with Rev. Pat Williams officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008at 11:30 a.m. at Isabella Cemetery in Sylvester.
Mr. Williford was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Acworth. Mr. Williford worked at Lockheed as a machinist and retired Atlantic Steel Company.
Survivors include three sons, Allan Williford of Cartersville, Steve Williford of Warwick and Tommy Williford of Catersville; four brothers, Billy Williford, Elbert Williford, Jesse Williford, and Jon Williford of Newnan; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will received friends Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m at the funeral home.
