Johnny Davis Craig

ALBANY — Mr. Johnny Davis Craig, 36, 4817 Folly Dr., Albany, died Friday, August 22, 2008 from a stroke and Marfan Syndrome.

His memorial service will be Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Mercedes Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the residence of Mrs. Earline Lybarger, 1403 Gail Ave. A celebration for John at NA will be scheduled at a later date and time.

Born in Atlanta, Mr. Craig had lived in Albany since 1983. He was a member of Mercedes Baptist Church. He was a member and a counselor with Narcotics Anonymous. He was an avid fan of Star Wars, Wrestling and was a novelist. Mr. Craig loved everybody, he was kind, loved animals and his Lord. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Quincy Davis Ramsey, II and Ray Lybarger.

Survivors include his parents Susan Darie Lybarger and husband Mark, Albany, Jack Edward Craig, Jr., Atlanta; grandparents, Marjorie C. Suydam, Brandon, FL, Earline Lybarger, Albany; special friend Darlene Mills, Thomasville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

James Douglas

SYLVESTER — James Douglas, 58, of Lakeland, FL, died on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 1 p.m., at Banks Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Mathews will officiate.

Mr. Douglas was born on January 20, 1950 in Sylvester, son of Edward and Ruby Parks Douglas. He was married to Marjorie Douglas. He lived in Lakeland, FL for ten years after moving from Tampa, FL. He was a retired mechanic in a ship yard.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Douglas and a sister Sylvia Ann Douglas.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Mathis of Adel and Cynthia Jones of Lakeland, FL; one son, James Douglas of Adel; two sisters Brenda Courson of Adel and Betty Lawson of Ty Ty; three brothers Winfred Douglas of Plant City, FL, Gilbert Douglas of Sylvester, and Buddy Douglas of Smithville; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 12 noon until the Funeral Hour.

ALBANY — Mrs. Germaine L. Guillemette, 69, of Albany died Friday August 22, 2008 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.

Marvin Lee Hall

SYLVESTER — Mr. Marvin Lee Hall, 65, of Sylvester died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Monday August 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Providence Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Powell officiating.

Mr. Hall was born on March 10, 1943, in Worth County, the son of Shelvy L. Hall, and Mary Ethel Champion Hall. He lived in Worth County all of his life. He was a retired trucker, who enjoyed spending time with his horse.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a son Allen Hall on September 25, 2006. Survivors include one daughter, Robin Gwines and her husband Mark of Sylvester; four grandchildren, Shelvy Giddens, Luke Gwines, Peyton Gweines and Meghan Hall; one great grandchild, Sky Hall; one sister, Thelma Winters of Griffin, GA and one daughter-in-law Cindy G. Hall.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.

OCILLA — James M. ”Ross” Davis, 58, of Ocilla, Georgia died Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, August 24 at the Ocilla Baptist Church with interment will follow in Willacoochee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7-9 on Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Myrtle Daniel Sharpton

TRENTON — Myrtle Daniel Sharpton, 78 of Smithville, Ga. died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Lee County Health and Rehab after an extended illness.

She had resided in Lee County, Ga. since 2005. She was a member of Magby Gap Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her son, Foshion E. Sharpton and Granddaughter, Earie E. Sharpton. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Herbert Sharpton of Smithville, Ga., two daughters, Jaki Gosa and Forrest of Leesburg, Ga. and Becky Swanbeck and husband Larry of Braselton, Ga., two sons; Ronnie Sharpton and wife Susan of Indiantown, FL. and Terry Sharpton and wife Gale of Trenton, Ga., one daughter-in-law, Cindy Sharpton of Trenton, Ga., brother, Nolan Daniel and two sisters, Doris Ellis both of Trenton, Ga. and Esther Kawan of Hallandale Beach, FL., several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 2 P.M. Sunday in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Cordell Holloway officiating. Interment followed in Browns Gap Cemetery. The family received friends from 3-9 P.M. Saturday.
