Mavis Aulday
ALBANY Mrs. Mavis Aulday, 78 of 2030 W. Broad Ave. in Albany died August 27, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Jim Jewel officiating. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery.
A native of Ashford, AL, Mrs. Aulday has lived in Albany 52 years where she was a member of Palmyra Road United Methodist Church and retired from Family Mart Grocery Store Cosmetic Department. She also worked a number of years with JC. Penney and Sears Department Stores. Mrs. Aulday will always be remembered as a loving mother and an awesome granny.
Survivors include her daughters, Anita Fortner of Leary, GA, Debbie Kohler of Canton, GA, grandchildren, Amanda Hambric and Will McGuire of Shellman, GA, Rick Hambric of Albany, Matthew Kohler of Canton, GA and Lewis Fortner of Kite, GA, brother, Robert A. Johnson, Jr. Valdosta, GA, sister, Alice Branton of Cottonwood, AL.
Mrs. Aulday was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Howard Aulday and a brother, Adger Johnson.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

Shirley Letchworth
ALBANY Shirley Letchworth, 72, of Albany, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at her home following an illness.
Her funeral service will be SATURDAY 4PM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native and lifelong resident of Albany, Mrs. Letchworth was a woman who believed that being a homemaker was her profession. She was a great cook and enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: William Frank Letchworth, Albany; 7 children: Carl Letchworth and his wife Rano, Albany; Rena Jepson and her husband Greg, Leesburg, Rodney Letchworth and his wife Julie, Albany, Sherry Ford and her husband Marty, Albany, Darryl Letchworth, Cartersville, Rhonda Monroe and her husband Jimmy, Sylvester, Dee Letchworth, Albany; 11 grandchildren: Tim Quick and his wife Renee, Tony Letchworth, Carla Gleason, Anna Letchworth, Keith Letchworth and his wife Krista, Brannon Letchworth, Wes Letchworth, Austin Young, Brent Bolton, Ericka White, Tyler White; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Delaine Clark, Albany, Vicki Sikes, Leesburg.

Margaret Dyer Smith
ALBANY Mrs. Margaret Dyer Smith, 1205 5th Ave., died Monday August 25, 2008 at her residence.
Her funeral service will be Thursday 2 PM in the sanctuary of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church with internment in Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Nathan Godley officiating. Her visitation will be Wednesday 5 to 7 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
A native of Halls, TN, Mrs. Smith had lived in Albany since 1947. She was an accountant with the Civil Service retiring at the Marine Corps Logistics Base. She was a charter member at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Boyce Smith and a son Ray Smith.
Survivors include her son Ross Smith, Sr. and his wife Peggy of Marietta; grandchildren, Samantha Smith and Ross Smith, Jr.; and a sister Clarene Edwards, Memphis, TN.
