Albany motorists gouged at pumps

I travel to Tallahassee a couple times a month, and there is one thing anyone knows before going to Florida — fill up your gas tank in Georgia.

Florida has an extra 12 cents per gallon tax on their gas and I have always noticed it to be about 10 cents more than gas in Albany.

July 24th, on my last trip there, I noticed gas in Tallahassee was $3.91 a gallon. I was shocked. Gas in Albany should be at least 10 cents cheaper at $3.81 a gallon, but I had just filled up for $3.99 a gallon.

So unless Georgia added a tax to their gallon of gas or Florida suspended their tax on their gallon of gas (neither of which I have seen in the news), Albany residents are being gouged when it comes to our price at the pump!
