Albany motorists gouged at pumps
I travel to Tallahassee a couple times a month, and there is one thing
anyone knows before going to Florida fill up your gas tank in Georgia.
Florida has an extra 12 cents per gallon tax on their gas and I have always
noticed it to be about 10 cents more than gas in Albany.
July 24th, on my last trip there, I noticed gas in Tallahassee was $3.91 a
gallon. I was shocked. Gas in Albany should be at least 10 cents cheaper at
$3.81 a gallon, but I had just filled up for $3.99 a gallon.
So unless Georgia added a tax to their gallon of gas or Florida suspended
their tax on their gallon of gas (neither of which I have seen in the news),
Albany residents are being gouged when it comes to our price at the pump!
