Zac Brown Band comes to Albany

  • The up-and-coming Dahlonega-based group will hit the stage Friday night.

ALBANY — The Zac Brown Band is heading to the Good Life City for a concert this weekend at the State Theatre, 313 Pine Ave.

The performance, which is open to ages 18 and older, is set for about 9 p.m. Friday, with doors opening at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is $10.

A Dahlonega native, 29-year-old Brown is an up and coming singer, songwriter and guitarist that mixes a variety of genres, including country, rock, reggae and bluegrass.

“I think people are always surprised by the musicianship and high expectation of the show,” the group’s front man said in a recent telephone interview.

Saturday’s concert comes in the middle of Zac Brown Band’s intensive tour schedule, which includes opening for the likes of Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins and Sugarland.

But while in Albany, the group will take center stage with their eclectic tunes, including their current single “Chicken Fried” from their independent CD “The Foundation.”

Saturday’s concert won’t be the first time for the Zac Brown Band to perform in Albany.

“I think we’ve played there before, several years ago,” Brown said.

For those planning to see their first Zac Brown Band concert, there’s no chance of disappointment.

“We guarantee they’ll enjoy the live show,” Brown said.
