Cotton Hall Theater in Colquitt puts out casting call for ‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’

COLQUITT – Cotton Hall Theater is going to Harvard Law this May. What, like it’s hard?

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school.

While there, she struggles with peers, professors, and of course, her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

“Legally Blonde: The Musical” is based on the film and the novel of the same name and features a pop-inspired score.

Auditions for the musical will be held at the theater, located at 166 Main St., from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

Actors who audition will be asked to read from a portion of the script and sing a verse and chorus of a pop-inspired musical theater song of their choice. In addition, those who audition will need to provide contact information and sign medical and press releases.

The theater askes that auditioners are confident about potential conflicts for April and May for rehearsals and performances. Anyone under age18 is required to have a parent accompany them to auditions to sign paperwork.

The theater is looking for a diverse cast, and everyone is welcome to audition for any role. Participation is free of charge.

All ages are welcome to audition, but the youngest characters in “Legally Blonde” are college freshmen. Actors cast will need to feasibly be able to portray that age or older. This is subjective and may not align with actual ages.
