Angels a blessing to grieving family
On Aug. 3, our lives were forever changed. We lost our unsung hero, 23-year-old D.J. Vinson, a brave young man who gave his own life attempting to save another in the waters of the Flint River at Turtle Park.
As we (family and friends) sat in the gazebo on the night of Aug. 3 and into the morning of the 4th, waiting and hoping for a miracle with no answers and no one from local authorities to give us encouragement, we were blessed by some of the greatest angels, whom we would like to thank.
D.J.s friends, outstanding young men who stayed through the night. They located chairs, provided food and drink, fans and extension cords, but most of all their support and comfort.
The fine staff of the Hilton Garden Inn for being gracious enough to allow us to use the lobby restroom facilities through the long night.
Morees store for generous amounts of early a.m. coffee.
The Lee County dive team, ADDU divers, The Albany Fire Department and the Albany/Dougherty Rescue Team for their work and dedication.
The Albany Welcome Center, who opened their doors for us to use the air conditioning, the restrooms and the use of the first floor as a grieving area.
Many other individuals too numerous to list ... God bless all of you.
