PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Westwood girls improve to 3-0 on season

DAWSON — The Westwood Lady Wildcats stayed undefeated on the season by defeating Lakeside Academy of Eufaula, Ala. 65-35 Tuesday night in the Terrell Academy Thanksgiving Shootout.

Westwood (3-0) nearly doubled up on Lakeside, getting 27 points from Callie Smith in the victory. Haley Marshall added 15 points, while Lexi Davis added 10 points.

The Lady Wildcats are off until Dec. 1 when they play host to Crisp Academy in a matchup of two defending state champions.

DEERFIELD-WINDSOR GIRLS 57, TERRELL ACADEMY 49: Deerfield-Windsor defeated Crisp Academy on the final day of the Terrell Academy Shootout. The Lady Knights were led by Kelsey King’s 13 points.

Claire McGee led Crisp Academy with 15 points.

TERRELL ACADEMY GIRLS 54, GLENWOOD 49: Terrell Academy improved to 2-1 on the season following a victory over Glenwood in the Terrell Academy Thanksgiving Shootout. Marilauren Farr led all scorers with 26 points, while Alana McCook finished with nine points in the victory.

Elizabeth Purdue led Glenwood with 17 points.

The Lady Eagles are off until Dec. 1 when they play host to Southwest Georgia Academy in a nonregion game.

Late Monday

DEERFIELD-WINDSOR GIRLS 55, FULLINGTON 31: In a late game on Monday, Deerfield-Windsor scored a victory over Fullington Academy in the Terrell Academy Shootout. Mary Warrington led the Lady Knights with 11 points, while Rachel McCluskey led Fullington with 11.

WESTFIELD GIRLS 46, TERRELL ACADEMY 44: Marilauren Farr scored 14 points and Erin Horne added eight for Terrell Academy in a tough loss to Westfield late Monday night in the Terrell Academy Thanksgiving Shootout.

Unique Tuberville of Westfield led all scorers with 16 points.

PELHAM GIRLS 87, P.K. YONGE 64: Pelham had five players finish in double figures of their season-opening victory over P.K. Yonge over the weekend. Herald Super 6er Briunna Freeman led the way with 23 points, while Mahogany Randall added 17, Quadranique Franklin 16, while Destiny Thomas and Timbreanna Hudson scored 11 points each.
