WALT SPECHT: A round of thanks to the community

Thanks to all the people that are trying to get Albany back on track. Thanks to those individuals and groups that stood up to Pheobe and Wernick, for to listen to the few large Industries we have left, the medical costs will definitely play a part in any future decisions involving these plants. Thanks to B.J.; she not only tries, she keeps trying to better Albany. Thanks to Bo Henry for his continued efforts to get the city where it used to be.

Thanks to the teachers that are really in it for more than a paycheck. Thanks to those civic groups that keep trying, despite setbacks and a lack of leadership by local government. Thanks to those folks that tend to point out what is wrong, and offer some kind of solution to make things right.

Thanks to those that have the unenviable task of enforcing laws, putting out fires and enforcing code in a reasonable and equal manner.

But mostly, thanks to those of you that take the time to get out and vote, for it is you that really control this area’s, and this country’s, future.
