Leslie Collins has joined AB&T National Bank as its newest team member and mortgage banker. Collins comes to AB&T with 12 years of experience in mortgage banking, most recently as a mortgage originator.

“My whole life and my entire career has been in the mortgage business. I like the fast pace of the business, and I like being an advocate for my clients,” Collins said.

After working as a loan officer for Southern Homestead Mortgage in Woodstock, she joined Wachovia as a broker coordinator and underwriting assistant in Alpharetta. Collins came to Albany at Regions Mortgage in 2007 as a mortgage sales assistant and was promoted to mortgage originator in 2011.

“Every mortgage takes a team — I am only a small part of getting a loan closed,” she said. “All of the pieces are important, but in the end, my job is to get the loan closed for our client. How they are treated and how they feel when they leave my office is important. When it is over, I want to have made a friend.”
