ALBANY — Renaissance Connection is presenting two arts and culture opportunities for the Albany area, including one set for Sunday.

The organization is presenting its “Jazzin’ the Quarters” series at 6 p.m. on Sunday. It is the second “A Jazz Vesper Experience” concert and will feature Harry King and Family of Friends Band.

The jazz session will be held at Resora at Cypress Pond, located at 801 Old Pretoria Road, and will be filled with jazz, live art and a silent auction. The cost will be $40, which will include dinner.

Shortly afterward, Renaissance Connection will present its “When Sistahs Gather” art exhibit from Feb. 2-24.

This exhibit will showcase professional artist Henrimae Bell of Cordele and introduce art student Ja’Kiera Daniels of Dougherty Comprehensive High School. It will be on display at the Albany Area Arts Council at 215 N. Jackson St. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

An artists’ reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday. This event will provide an opportunity to meet the artists and purchase artwork. This year’s “When Sistahs Gather” art exhibit will offer an opportunity to view Bell’s artwork in a chronological timeline, while Daniels’ work will be her own interpretation of Bell’s artwork.

Proceeds from Sunday’s event will go to benefit Renaissance Connection. The organization is an arts and cultural nonprofit dedicated to supporting creativity through all forms of art for the educational advancement of the community.
