VALDOSTA — Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta announced Friday that the “Cars and Coasters” classic and collectible automobile show has been postponed until next Saturday.

According to park officials, the show was pushed back in order to give participants time to recover and resettle after Hurricane Irma.

“We have some truly amazing vehicles cruising in from all over the South,” Wild Adventures Public Relations Manager Adam Floyd said. “We want to make sure everyone has enough time to get their vehicles show-ready.”

According to Floyd, this is the first year that the theme park has hosted the car show.

“This is our first year having the ‘Cars and Coasters’ show,” Floyd said. “We are very excited about it. Muscle cars, motorcycles and classic trucks will transform Wild Adventures’ Amphitheater into a one-of-a-kind, all-day car show for the whole family.”

Kids ages 12 and younger can visit the Kids Car Club to cast votes for the car of their choice.

Every child who votes will receive an “official judge” sticker, and all are invited to grab a coloring page to design their own dream car, according to Floyd.

“Cars and Coasters” is a judged event with trophies awarded for best in show, kids choice and the top three in each of five categories: classic car, classic truck, modern/import, rat rod and motorcycle.

Car enthusiasts who are eager to show off their prize vehicle can register online at WildAdventures.com.

“Cars and Coasters,” as well as other theme park special features, including the Halloween favorites Kid-O-Ween and Terror in the Wild, are included with a season pass or park admission.
