Richmond Hill

at Lee County

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Richmond Hill 7-2 (fourth in Region 2-6A); Lee County 9-1 (first in Region 1-6A).

Last week: Effingham County beat Richmond Hill 40-26; Lee County beat Coffee 23-7.

Common opponents: None.

Playoff appearances: Richmond Hill 5, Lee County 11.

Series history: First meeting.

Winner gets next: Lovejoy (No. 3 seed)-Grovetown (No. 2 seed) winner.

Notes: Richmond Hill won its first seven games, including a win over Region 2-6A champion Glynn Academy, before losing its final two regular-season games … The Wildcats have two Division I-bound receivers and a place-kicker who has committed to Maryland … Lee County has a half-dozen Division I commitments, including a defensive back (Otis Reese) who is committed to Michigan.

Monroe

at Pierce County

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Monroe 3-6 (third in Region 1-3A); Pierce County 4-5 (second in Region 2-3A).

Last week: Cook beat Monroe 36-23; Liberty County beat Pierce County 41-14.

Common opponents: Brooks County (Monroe lost 49-0; Pierce County lost 31-0).

Playoff appearances: Monroe 13, Pierce County 16.

Series history: First meeting.

Winner gets next: Savannah (No. 4 seed)-Peach County (No. 1 seed) winner.

Notes: Monroe draws what should be a fairly even first-round matchup … The Tornadoes’ only win over a playoff qualifier this season came against Dougherty, while Pierce County’s only win over a postseason team came against Tattnall County.

Dougherty

at Liberty County

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Dougherty 2-8 (fourth in Region 1-3A); Liberty County 7-3 (first in Region 2-3A).

Last week: Dougherty off; Liberty County beat Pierce County 41-14.

Common opponents: None.

Playoff appearances: Dougherty 17, Liberty County 7.

Series history: First meeting.

Winner gets next: Windsor Forest (No. 3 seed)-Macon Westside (No. 1 seed) winner.

Notes: This is Liberty County’s fifth straight postseason appearance … The Panthers were quarterfinalists last year.

Towns County

at Pelham

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Towns County 5-5 (No. 23 seed, sixth in Region 8-1A); Pelham 8-2 (No. 10 seed, second in Region 1-1A).

Last week: Towns County beat Providence Christian 42-21; Mitchell County beat Pelham 22-0.

Common opponents: None.

Playoff appearances: Towns County 1, Pelham 26.

Series history: First meeting.

Winner gets next: Macon County (No. 7 seed).

Notes: Towns County is making its first playoff appearance in program history, and it will be driving 322 miles (one way) to do so … The program near the North Carolina border played just one other in-state public school opponent this season, Commerce … Pelham is looking for its first playoff victory since 2002.

Newnan

at Tift County

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Newnan 4-6 (third in Region 2-7A); Tift County 9-1 (second in Region 1-7A).

Last week: Newnan beat East Coweta 30-28; Tift County beat Camden County 21-10.

Series history: Newnan leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Newnan won 42-0 in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Winner gets next: Roswell (No. 4 seed)-Hillgrove (No. 1 seed) winner.

Colquitt County

at Pebblebrook

Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Records: Colquitt County 7-3 (third in Region 1-7A); Pebblebrook 6-4 (second in Region 1-7A).

Last week: Colquitt County off; Pebblebrook beat Wheeler 51-37.

Series history: First meeting.

Winner gets next: North Cobb (No. 4 seed)-Walton (No. 1 seed) winner.

New Hampstead

at Bainbridge
