MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE-ALBANY — Officials at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany recently recognized the base’s Supervisor and Civilian of the Year.

“He provided expert advice and guidance to leadership and employees regarding all aspects of logistics support,” officials with the base noted, adding, “Barrett’s professional demeanor gained the confidence and respect of all those who had the privilege of working with him. He consistently showed excellent team spirit and a can-do attitude in accomplishing each goal. He eagerly sought to learn as much as possible and extended assistance in support of tenant commands.
Barrett’s demonstrated superior performance is a testimony of loyalty and dedication to the highest standards of MCLB-Albany and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the U.S. Naval Service.
Morey was recognized for service in 2023 while serving as a financial management analyst in the Office of the Comptroller Labor and Payroll Branch at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany. She was selected as the Appropriated Funds (GS-11 and Below) MCLB Albany Civilian Employee of the Year.
“Morey utilized her analytical skills frequently to help find and implement solutions to numerous pay issues and problems, personally correcting $40,000 worth of pay issues,” base officials said. “She constantly communicated internally and externally with her counterparts and is the subject matter expert for payroll. She selflessly took over the additional responsibilities of the vacant reimbursable pay tech to ensure reimbursable tenants did not have a lapse in service.
“Morey has led the efforts to improve performance measures in her branch and does not hesitate to take additional training to enhance her knowledge and skills. There was no reduction in workload, and as a team of one, due to her persistence, her branch met the goal of garnering efficiencies while maintaining effective payroll. Morey’s distinctive accomplishments and impressive devotion to duty reflected great credit upon herself and the U.S. Marine Corps.”
