LEESBURG — A robot statue created by Ron Herndon, the father of Leesburg Police Officer Sgt. Frank Herndon, stands guard outside City Hall in the Lee County community. Sgt. Herndon, who has been on the force for 11 years, said creating pieces like the guardian officer is part of his dad’s hobby. Ron Herndon created the piece specifically for LPD.
