The Washington Nationals placed right-handers Stephen Strasburg and Brandon Kintzler on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday, following injuries to both over the weekend.

Strasburg, 6-6 with a 3.46 ERA in 13 starts this season, left the Nationals’ 9-5 loss to the San Francisco Giants after two innings Friday due to tightness in his shoulder.

An MRI exam confirmed that the right-hander has inflammation in his pitching shoulder, manager Davey Martinez said Saturday. The MRI did not show any structural damage.

Strasburg threw 35 pitches, allowing three runs on five hits, including a homer and two doubles, with two strikeouts before leaving. It was his first time this season pitching fewer than five innings.

Kintzler left Saturday’s game against the Giants after straining his forearm on an eighth-inning pitch that Buster Posey hit for a line drive. Kintzler immediately motioned for the dugout after the play. The Nationals held on to win 7-5.

Kintzler is 1-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 31 appearances.

Right-handed relievers Trevor Gott and Wander Suero were called up from Triple-A Syracuse to fill the open roster spots.

Gott is up for his third stint this season with the Nationals, sporting a 5.28 ERA in 17 appearances. Despite inheriting eight runners in those games, he has yet to allow one to score.

Suero has a 4.15 ERA in 12 relief appearances with the Nationals this season, his first as a pro.
