2024 Lee County High School Distinguished Alumni named

LEESBURG — The Lee County High School Distinguished Alumni Program Committee announced Tuesday the selection of the seven recipients of the 2024 LCHS Distinguished Alumni Award.
The purpose of the program is to recognize outstanding alumni who have maintained a high standard of excellence and distinguished themselves through their work, personal accomplishments, or in the lives of others. These individuals exemplify the ideals of the Lee County School System and the community it serves and serve as role models for current and future Lee County High School students, the committee said in making the announcement.
The 2024 Class of Distinguished Alumni are:
— Dr. Zackary Taylor Pate Jr. – Class of 1954 (Posthumous)
— Dr. Ray Williams – Class of 1961
— Shane Parsons – Class of 1983
— Charles Carlton Vann – Class of 1986
— Chris Prokesh – Class of 1991
— Kaion Hamilton – Class of 1998
— Paul Johstono – Class of 2001
The Distinguished Alumni will be recognized and honored on Sept. 26 with a banquet at The Bindery at Oakland Library. Tickets will go on sale to the public in August. On Sept. 27, the alumni will visit and speak with students in the Lee County School System, and on Sept. 28, they will be recognized on the field at the football game during halftime.
