Albany Tech to host first Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Summit

ALBANY — Albany Technical College will host its inaugural Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Summit Aug. 6-8. The event, themed “Working to Maintain Trust and Keep Our Communities Safe,” aims to foster positive relations between the police and the community, professionalize community engagement in policing, and offer specialized training, networking, and professional development opportunities for both sworn and non-sworn personnel involved in community engagement roles within criminal justice and law enforcement agencies.

Kenn Singleton, associate vice president for academics & emergency management at Albany Tech, expressed his gratitude for the diverse panel of speakers and the support of local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies involved in the summit.

“We are deeply appreciative of the commitment and support from our law enforcement and criminal justice partners,” Singleton said. “Their participation underscores the importance of collaboration and shared learning in our efforts to maintain trust and keep our communities safe. The diverse panel of speakers we have assembled brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, promising to make this summit a cornerstone event for professional development in our community.”

• 6-7 p.m.: Community event — “The Law and Your Community” by NOBLE Georgia Chapter members and Chief Michael Persley at Albany Police Department Community Center
