Atlanta Braves sign veteran pitcher Josh Tomlin

The Atlanta Braves signed veteran pitcher Josh Tomlin to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training on Thursday.

Tomlin, 34, appeared in five games this spring with Milwaukee, making three starts and going 2-1 with a 4.80 ERA (8 ER/15.0 IP). The right-hander joined the Brewers on a minor league deal on Feb. 7 of this year.

Prior to this season, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder spent his entire professional career with Cleveland after the club selected him in the 19th round of the 2006 draft out of Texas Tech University. The native of Tyler, Texas, went 2-5 with a 6.14 ERA (48 ER/70.1 IP) in 32 games, nine starts, for Cleveland last season, and over parts of nine major league seasons, Tomlin is 61-53 with a 4.77 ERA (476 ER/898.2 IP).
