Wake up, Albany leaders. If that story on the front page of Sunday’s Herald doesn’t concern you about young people moving away from here as soon as they can, then you’re not paying attention. The future in a city is not tomorrow or the next day, it’s a generation down the road. We need more forward thinkers.
As for me, I think I’ll have another shot of bourbon.
When are some of Albany’s other fraternities going to take up the challenge of the Alphas? These men are positive role models in our community, and there needs to be more like them. What about it fraternities?
Another nonprofit coming to Albany. Mended Hearts moving their national office to Albany from Dallas, Texas seems a little strange to me. The company president says, “Moving to a smaller community where we can be closer to patients will enable us to do that.” They are moving from an area with millions of people (patients) to an area with 80,000 to be closer to their patients? Something does not sound right about this nonprofit.
The Outdoors Expo Saturday was a real good event. I took my family, and we turned it into an all-day fun thing. I especially liked those boats and that house set up in the parking lot. I hope whoever put this on will do it again.
Thank you, Albany Herald Sports, for printing the Braves schedule in Sunday’s paper. I think this is going to be an exciting season.
There are more “Founders” than the key seven you mentioned. You cannot prove unequivocally that even they were classic Deists.
Are the city and county really going to use that T-SPLOST money ($80 million!) to improve our roads, or is that just more fake news that y’all are putting out there?
I can’t believe the Cakery has joined the move out to northwest Albany. It’s always been one of my favorite places to go. Guess I’ll have to drive a little farther to get my sweet treats.
The Pretoria brewery is still the coolest thing about Albany.
Be careful allowing politics in your churches, especially when you’re getting federal dollars and have a nonprofit status.
The report by the Dougherty County Police leads me to think just one thing: Why are we wasting money on another police department when we have a city police department and a sheriff’s department? It would seem that we could consolidate the forces and have a much stronger, more effective force.
Wondering which of our government leaders thought a car junkyard was a good idea on Broad Avenue next to the Expressway?
I’m so disappointed. I didn’t get to the expo in time Saturday to get a bucket! I know when you snooze you lose, but I saw everyone else carrying around those buckets and found out how they got them. I’ll be there early next time.
John McCain is no “war hero.” During combat any soldier can surrender and be captured. The real heroes are those who came home in a body bag, or with life-changing injuries.
AOC said she did not like the Electoral College and would never send her kids there.
