Herald publisher talks to civic club
Albany Herald and AlbanyHerald.com President and Publisher Scot Morrissey, right, converses with members of the Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County after a recent meeting at which Morrissey was the guest program speaker. Morrissey’s multifaceted message to the club was about the need for balance as more people get their news from digital platforms and the paper’s need to maintain profitability by reducing print distribution. “You have to fish where the fish are,” Morrissey said, even though he said he personally likes holding a printed paper in his hands. More people are reading The Herald online than the print version, he said. Talking to Morrissey are, from left, Jim Bullion, Liz Rich, Carolyn Gay and Larry Price. (Special Photo: David Shivers)
