Baconton Community Charter School partners with AmeriPro Health to launch new EMT Training Program

BACONTON – Bacon Community Charter School kicked off its first day of school on Aug. 8, and with it, launched its innovative EMT Training Program.
The training course is designed to provide students with hands-on training and a direct pathway to careers as emergency medical technicians. The program’s first cohort consists of senior health care pathway students. The inaugural course is open to all BCCS rising seniors who are enrolled in the Health Science cluster pathway.
Students who complete the EMT CTAE program will qualify to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT certification exam and apply for Georgia licensure as an EMT.
Visitors from the Georgia Department of Health and AmeriPro EMS attended the first day to help kickstart the program.
A Facebook post from the BCSS account honored the first day with a post and pictures of the students hard at work. The post garnered excited and congratulatory comments from locals and people in the EMS field. One commenter pointed out further opportunities awaiting students who completed the program at Albany Technical College.
This new training course is just one part of BCCS’ growing curriculum and educational impact. BCCS first opened in 2000 and is nearing its 25th year in service, making it the longest-running charter school in Georgia.
The school offers a Pre-K through 12th-grade program and has an enrollment of more than 900 students. Its students’ academic excellence has received recognition throughout the years, including STEM students taking home awards at the fifth annual Robot Drone League Competition in February.
“Beyond its educational impact, BCCS has catalyzed growth within Baconton, transforming the town into a thriving community hub while leading students on a journey of learning, community building, and fostering a brighter future for all,” a press release read.
The program is in partnership with AmeriPro Emergency Medical Services. AmeriPro Health encompasses a wide range of health care companies. The company’s portfolio comprises emergency and critical care services, non-emergency medical transportation, patient coordination and personalized home-based care solutions. The company’s focus in all these spheres is enhanced patient outcomes and efficient processes.
