Duke freshman star Vernon Carey Jr. will enter the 2020 NBA Draft, multiple outlets reported Friday.

The 6-foot-10, 270-pound center is projected to be a mid-to-late first-round pick.

The Atlantic Coast Conference’s Freshman of the Year averaged 17.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 31 games during his lone season with the Blue Devils in 2019-20.

Carey shot 57.7 percent from the field and posted 15 double-doubles.

A five-star recruit from the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., area, Carey was ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the nation in the Class of 2019 by 247 Sports.

Carey’s father, Vernon Carey Sr., was a first-round draft pick by the NFL’s Miami Dolphins in 2004. The offensive lineman played in 121 games for the team from 2004-11.
