CUTHBERT — The installation of a stormwater cross-drain pipe will require the closure of U.S. Business/Georgia Highway (SR) 1 Business south of Cuthbert, the state Department of Transportation announced in a news release Monday.

The work will be conducted on U.S. 27 Business/SR 1 Business South between SR 216 and U.S. 82/SR 50 in Cuthbert. Local traffic will be able to access locations in the area but will not be able to travel through the work area. Non-local/through traffic will use U.S. 82/SR 50 heading east to U.S. 27. Signs will mark the detour route.

The work is scheduled for Aug. 22-26, provided there are no weather delays.
