Albany City Commission announces called meeting, ’24 schedule
As the city of Albany’s Utilities Authority transitions to full automation for reading utility meters, some customers have seen estimated bills instead of an actual bill in recent billing cycles, many resulting in extremely high bills.

ALBANY — The city of Albany’s Board of Commissioners will hold a special called meeting Friday at 2 p.m. at the 222 Pine Ave. Albany-Dougherty Government Center.
Commissioners will address three agenda items during the meeting: The purchase of police Interceptor vehicles from Wade Ford of Smyrna at a combined cost of $382,356; approval of a commercial lease at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport; and meet in an executive session to discuss potential litigation and a personnel issue.
The meeting will be held in Room 100 of the Government Center.
The commission also announced Thursday its planned meeting dates for the 2024 portion of Fiscal Year 2023-24. Continuing its current practice, the first board work session will be held the first Tuesday of each month, and the second work session will be held the third Tuesday of each month. Each work session will begin at 8:30 a.m. The regular business meeting is scheduled for the fourth Tuesday each month at 6 p.m.
All of the meetings will be held in Room 100.

♦ Tuesday, March 19 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, March 26 — 6 p.m.
♦ Tuesday, April 2 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, April 16 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, April 23 — 6 p.m.
♦ Tuesday, May 7 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, May 21 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, May 28 — 6 p.m.
♦ Tuesday, June 4 — 8:30 a.m.
♦ Tuesday, June 18 — 8:30 a.m.
