Rapist takes plea; Goes away for 25 years

Phillip Benjamin Conner pleaded guilty at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to aggravated assault to commit rape an other related crimes

Judge Willie Lockette sentenced Conner to 25 years in prison, 25 years probation and banished him for life from Dougherty County and the counties that touch Dougherty County’s borders.

Conner, a former mall security guard, had approached women he thought were prostitutes, convinced them he was a narcotics officer and took them to his car where he assaulted them.
