Servant leadership subject of first Usher Lecture

TIFTON — Tatyana Pashnyak, a business lecturer at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, will kick off the college’s acclaimed Jess Usher Lecture Series on Oct. 24.

“Servant leadership is important because it fosters an environment where people feel valued and supported, leading to higher levels of trust, engagement and collaboration,” Pashnyak said. “The best leaders are those who lead by example, demonstrating humility, empathy, and a commitment to the growth of those around them. We will explore extensive research and case studies demonstrating how servant leadership not only enhances employee engagement and satisfaction but also leads to superior organizational performance, innovation, and a robust, positive culture.

“Participants will gain valuable insights into implementing servant leadership practices within their organizations to foster a supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth, ultimately driving organizational success and sustainability. By the end of this session, attendees will gain practical strategies to transform their leadership approach, cultivate a servant leadership culture, and achieve a competitive advantage in their respective fields.”

The lecture is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at ABAC’s Howard Auditorium. Each Usher Lecture Series event is free and open to the public.

The Jess Usher Lecture Series features a carefully curated slate of dynamic presentations, drawn from a wide range of disciplines and delivered by distinguished members of the ABAC faculty as well as distinguished guest lecturers. Formerly known as the ABAC Lecture Series, this special collection has been renamed in memory of Jess Usher, a beloved ABAC professor and former lecturer in the series, who passed away in June 2021.
