Sherwood Christian volleyball rolls to another win

ALBANY — The Sherwood Christian girls volleyball team won again Friday afternoon, beating Central Christian in four sets, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16 and 25-22.
In the first set, led the team with five points and also had five assists as the setter. The Lady Eagles only had five errors for the entire set.
Central Christian pulled out to an early lead in set two with serves that the Lady Eagles had trouble with and SCA couldn’t recover. Ivy Grace Collins led the Lady Eagles with six digs.
Wright again led the team in the third set as the Sherwood offense earned 19 of the 25 set points. Wright earned six points and also had five assists.
Hayden Walker started off set four strong for the Lady Eagles with five aces to open the set. Arianna Whitmire and Ivy Grace Collins kept the back row going with nine digs each. Whitmire led the team with five aces to push the SCA lead to 16-5 and led the team with eight points.
The Sherwood Christian JV lost a tough, three-set match. They won the first set 28-26, lost set two 25-10, and then lost a heartbreaker at the end by a 16-14 score.
