ALBANY — The Dougherty County Public Library’s are partnering with the Albany Area Arts Council, Albany Museum of Art, Thronateeska Heritage Museum and Wetherbee Planetarium, Chehaw and Flint Riverquarium for a fun filled summer.
Some of the special events such as “Wherever You Go, There’s a Story,” this event brings magic, puppets, fun and storytelling together to help children to want to read. Also “One World & Magical Stories!” highlights the importance of reading with a mix of magical comedy, music, storytelling and lots of audience participation. And finally a event that will take place at each branch will be “Tale Tails,” with Chehaw Wild Animal Park this event will feature stories on animals and give the audience a chance to meet an animal or two from the book.
All programs are free and open to the public. Children from preschool age to young adult are encouraged to attend. Groups need to call 24 hours in advance for reservations.
Contact, Central Library children’s room (229) 420-3208.
Also to keep up with your 2011 summer reading programs a packet is available at any of the branch libraries or log onto the Dougherty County Library at www.docolib.org.
