Free agent safety Micah Hyde re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday and joined the team’s practice squad. A 2017 Pro Bowl selection, Hyde openly contemplated retirement after the 2023 season when his contract expired. He did not sign with another team in 2024. “Just to set expectations, Micah is in a practice squad role,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said. “We’re fully confident in Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin, Cole Bishop and Kareem Jackson — they have all been doing a real good job for us in the roles that they are currently are in. They are going to stay in those roles and Micah is in a practice squad role.” Hyde, 33, recorded 54 tackles with two interceptions in 14 games (all starts) last season. He has totaled 644 tackles, 24 interceptions, five sacks, five forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries in 158 career games (128 starts) with the Green Bay Packers and Bills. He was selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. –Field Level Media
