Dougherty County Police make arrests in vehicular homicide, burglary cases

ALBANY – An Albany man faces vehicular homicide and other charges related to a Monday car accident that claimed the life of a passenger in his car.
The Dougherty County Police Department responded at 10:48 p.m. to the 900 block of Holly Drive to a report of a car hitting a tree.
There, officers found a 2009 Nissan Altima that was heavily damaged with Emonica Shantel Dawson, 37, unresponsive in the front seat. Dawson was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Officers found evidence that the driver, Jartavious Bernard Frazier, 37, was impaired, police said.
He was charged with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.
In a separate incident, DCP charged Quenton Moore and Marshayni Lennear in connection with two burglaries at the 700 Cordele Road Stop and Shop store. The store was burglarized two times in the early morning on Feb. 1, and lottery tickets were among the merchandise stolen.
Moore and Lennear are accused of attempting to redeem stolen lottery tickets on Monday.
Police are seeking a third suspect who has been identified.
