ALBANY — The spirit of Elvis Presley will come to life this weekend when Deerfield-Windsor School presents “All Shook Up” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.

According to Director Lindsay Stewart, the school’s annual spring musical, set in the 1950s, revolves around a small Midwestern town where the mayor has enacted public decency standards that ban loud music, public “necking” and tight pants — basically outlawing fun in the town.

A motorcycle-riding, leather-clad stranger whose bike breaks down in the town leads a challenge to the system.

“If you are familiar with the show “Footloose,” include Elvis music and you’ll have an idea what to expect,” said Stewart, who is making her directorial debut.

Stewart said the production has more than 60 cast and crew members and features more than 20 of Elvis’ most well-known tunes.

“Until preparing for this show, I didn’t know Elvis had performed so many famous songs,” Stewart said.

Reserved seating tickets for All Shook Up are $15 each, Stewart said. They are available at the upper campus of Deerfield-Windsor School, 2500 Nottingham Way, during school hours, or at the Municipal Auditorium box office one hour before curtain.
