ALBANY — The home of Debbie and Tim Mazur has been selected as the Yard of the Month for October by the Daffodil Garden Club.

“This fantastic home is located at 236 Westfield Road and the back yard of the property is on the creek,” said Marideane Maxwell, who chairs the Yard of the Month Committee for the club. “Your first impression is that all is perfection and it gets better as you enter the gate to the pool.

“Wonderful pieces of wood that have been gleaned from the creek make a real impact in the landscape, then outstanding pieces of statutory that are placed around the property give it that extra impact. Various varieties of palms border the pool and the little barrel-shaped house by the pool is a sauna from Finland.”

The Mazurs, who have a daughter, have lived at the residence for 20 years and everyone is involved in maintaining the property, she said.

“The boardwalk out to the creek has been built between the trees and is not connected to them in any way,” Maxwell noted. “Carvings of wildlife in this area are sure to impress.”

The Mazur family have lived here for 20 years and everyone has helped with maintaining the property.

Debbie and Tim and a son and daughter have made this a special place.

Each month, the Daffodil Garden Club chooses a residence to recognize as its top yard. Nominations from the public are welcomed and may be submitted by calling (229) 436-6388. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Garden Center on Fifth Avenue. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15.
