Lee East Lady Trojans, Albany Middle boys roll to big wins

ALBANY – Monday’s Deep South Conference action featured two lopsided games as Lee East and Albany Middle School squared off. The Lady Trojans of Lee East cruised to a 48-21 victory to improve their record to 17-1, while Albany Middle’s boys overwhelmed Lee East with a commanding 58-15 win.
The Lady Indians started strong, trailing just 9-7 in the first quarter thanks to a full-court press that disrupted the Lady Trojans. However, Lee East quickly adjusted, tightening their defense and taking control to lead 22-10 at halftime. The Lady Trojans dominated the third quarter, holding Albany Middle scoreless and extending their lead to 39-10.
Kamari Franklin led Lee East with 17 points, while Natalie Johnson contributed 12. Hamilton scored seven points to lead the Lady Indians.
In the boys’ game, Albany Middle wasted no time asserting dominance. The Indians jumped out to a 13-0 lead after Karson Knox drained a three-pointer midway through the first quarter. Knox added another three from the opposite corner to close the quarter with an 18-0 advantage.
The Indians pushed their lead to 28-0 in the third quarter before Juan Carr hit a three-pointer to get Lee East on the scoreboard finally. Ten Albany Middle players scored, led by Micah Joyner and VJ Chambers with 10 points each. Knox added nine points for the Indians.
