THOMASVILLE — Southwest Georgia party people are encouraged to mark their calendars for Nov. 3, as the city of Thomasville presents its next First Friday Sip & Shop. Participants can explore and indulge in downtown Thomasville and wrap up their evening with a performance by the Steve Walden Band.

Kicking off at 6 p.m., downtown Thomasville merchants will provide unique shopping and dining experiences. Many shops and restaurants will be open late, so there’s truly something for every palate and preference. Those 21 years and older can also sip on an adult beverage throughout the downtown area after picking up an armband from a participating business.

“Many of our retailers extend their hours during these First Friday events, offering an ideal moment to dive into your holiday shopping spree,” city of Thomasville Events Manager Nicole Elwell said. “We also have a diverse range of eateries and a selection of food trucks that will be participating, so you can enjoy dinner before the complimentary concert begins.”

Before the concert, attendees can stroll through downtown Thomasville and enjoy live street music, with musicians set up throughout the event area. The Steve Walden Band will hit the stage at the Ritz Amphitheater from 8-10 p.m. Walden is a talented singer, writer, producer and musician with an R&B vibe.

The event is family-friendly and an opportunity to explore everything downtown Thomasville has to offer.

“These events not only increase support for our local businesses but also spotlight the vibrant heart of downtown Thomasville to both residents and tourists,” Main Street Manager Brandy Avery said.
