ALBANY — The Albany Civil Rights Institute will be presenting a special performance by the renowned Florida A&M University Society Concert Chorale, under the director of Mark Butler, a former director of the Dougherty High School chorale, April 9th at 6 p.m.

The event, which is being sponsored by Accounting Management Inc., will be held in Building J on the West Campus of Albany State University.

The FAMU Society Concert Chorale is well known for its diverse repertoire that spans the choral genres of classical, jazz, gospel, spiritual and multicultural styles. This aggregation of music majors, and non music majors have performed at Carnegie Hall and in summer opera productions. Butler is a published composer, whose compositions have quickly grown in popularity and are in demand at national and international music conferences and festivals.

Tickets for the performance are $10 and may be purchased at The Civil Rights Institute located at 326 Whitney Avenue. There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door on the day of the event, so organizers are encouraging patrons to get their tickets in advance.
