CARTER SCHEDULE
President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 148 Georgia Highway 45 North, Plains. The Sunday school class starts at 10 a.m. and is preceded by an orientation period at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. SPECIAL EVENT
Sherwood Men’s Ministry will host a Wild Game Dinner 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 24. The guest speaker will be Rick Burgess, co-host of the nationally syndicated “Rick and Bubba Show” based in Birmingham, Ala. Burgess is a highly sought-after speaker and feels called to challenge men to become who they are called to be through the power of submitting to the authority of Jesus Christ, Sherwood officials say. Cost is $5 per person, and all men are encouraged to wear camouflage. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Sherwood Baptist Church, 2201 Whispering Pines, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. today, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday–Thursday, and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb 24. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. in the Sherwood Fellowship Center with Burgess speaking at 7 p.m. in the Sherwood Worship Center. Door prizes will be awarded. SPECIAL SERVICE
Weldon Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 2729 Leary Road, Albany, will celebrate its pastor and first lady’s 11th anniversary at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship service will begin with Sunday school at 9 a.m. The morning message will be presented by James Love, a member of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
PROGRAM
GriefShare, an education and support group for individuals who have lost someone due to death, is being offered by First Baptist Church of Albany Monday through May 23. Groups meet every week during this time period.
