CARTER SCHEDULE

President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday school this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 148 Georgia Highway 45 North, Plains. Carter’s next scheduled class is Oct. 29. The Sunday school class starts at 10 a.m. and is preceded by an orientation period at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. The church building opens at 7:30 a.m. Please note Carter’s schedule is subject to change. Visit the church website at www.mbcplains.org.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Karen Peck & New River will be in concert at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 at First Baptist Church of Doerun, 131 S. Broad St. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received. Contact (229) 782-5852.

A Gospel extravaganza “Parade of States” will be hosted by Union Church of Bluffton at 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Blakely Civic Center, 107 Rose Drive, Blakely. Vocalists will include The Legend Gospel Singers of Tampa, The Exciting Gospel Warriors of Tampa, The Jacobs Gospel Singers of Atlanta, God’s Great Divine Voices of Dawson and others.
