CARTER SCHEDULE

President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 148 Georgia Highway 45 North, Plains. The Sunday school class starts at 10 a.m. and is preceded by an orientation period at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. The church building opens at 7:30 a.m. Please note Carter’s schedule is subject to change. Visit the church website at www.mbcplains.org.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Radium Springs Baptist Church, 2402 Roxanna Road, will conduct an indoor church yard sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 21. Proceeds from auction will benefit Lottie Moon International Missions.

Minister and vocalist John Lanier will be in concert at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Albany Grace Church of the Nazarene, 3000 Gillionville Road.

The 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation will be commemorated Oct. 28 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Plains. A 5 p.m. social hour will be followed by a 6 p.m. PowerPoint presentation by Roy T. Wise on Martin Luther and the Reformation from the Kessler Reformation Collection at Emory University.

SEMINARS

A GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays seminar is being offered 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 23 at First Baptist Church of Albany, 145 Oakland Parkway, Leesburg. This seminar is to help those who have experienced the death of a loved one not only to survive the holidays but to find strength, healing and tools to move forward in their daily walk through the deep pain of grief.
